Cryosurgery, sometimes called cryotherapy, is the localized freezing of tissue for the controlled destruction and removal of unwanted lesions, especially on the skin.
Cryosurgery can safely and effectively treat many common skin lesions, including:
  • Warts
  • Actinic Keratoses
  • Seborrheic Keratoses
  • Molluscum
  • Skin Tags
  • Cherry Angioma
As the coldest cryosurgical technique (-196º C), liquid nitrogen freezes lesions more quickly, completely, and effectively than other freezing agents.

Also, liquid nitrogen can easily be applied with a high degree of control and accuracy by using a variety of spray tips and probes with different apertures for lesions of different sizes and types.

Liquid nitrogen applied with a spray or probe (temperature of -196º C) is much colder than liquid nitrogen applied with a swab (-20º C), than cryogens that come in disposable spray cans (-55º C and -70º C), and than nitrous oxide (-75º C). Because liquid nitrogen applied with a spray or probe is so much colder, it produces superior results.
Highly effective treatment and removal of many warts and other common skin lesions - For example, in a study of 96 patients with 505 Plantar Warts who saw one physician over a 16-month period, 92% of the warts cleared completely after cryosurgery (84% after only a single treatment).

Good cosmetic results - lesions heal with no or minimal scarring,
even if freezing is excessive.

Treatment is easy, quick, and convenient
to perform - The average freeze time for common lesions is 5-30 seconds.

Minimal pain
- No anesthetic is generally needed and patients often feel little pain during or after most treatments.

Bloodless and odorless
- There is no bleeding during treatment and there is no smell.

Easy to learn
- Cryosurgery for many common lesions can be learned in 3-4 hours. Brymill Cryogenic Systems offers a FREE DVD that provides a 13-minute overview of cryosurgery. Call Brymill for a copy.
Liquid nitrogen is widely available from medical gas suppliers, who can come to your office and fill your storage tank for you.(Look under "Medical Gases" or "Gas-Industrial & Medical" in the Yellow Pages.)

It depends on the type of storage tank and delivery system used. In Brymill’s LongLast Storage Tank, liquid nitrogen has a static holding time of up to 220 days. When needed, liquid nitrogen can be easily and safely transferred from the 20-liter storage tank to a CRY-AC® hand-held delivery system using Brymill’s convenient withdrawal tube.

The CRY-AC® hand-held delivery system can hold liquid nitrogen for up to 24 hours and therefore can be used to perform cryosurgery throughout the day. At the end of the day, the liquid nitrogen remaining in the CRY-AC® hand-held unit can be easily transferred back into the storage tank or allowed to evaporate on its own.
In addition to Brymill’s FREE 13-minute DVD, there are textbooks, CME workshops, and a Brymill training CD-ROM providing cryosurgical instruction. You can order the following through Brymill:
  • Liquid Nitrogen Cryosurgery: An Overview (Brymill’s FREE 13-minute demonstration DVD) Call Brymill for a copy.
  • Cutaneous Cryosurgery: Principles & Clinical Practices (textbook)
  • Cutaneous Cryosurgery: Principles & Practice (CD-ROM)
Since 1966, Brymill has been the world leader in the design and manufacture of hand-held cryosurgical equipment.

Brymill is the leading supplier to dermatologists. In a recent survey, 85% of the U.S. dermatologists contacted used Brymill cryosurgical equipment.

Brymill has a MUCH lower cost to use on an ongoing basis than disposable cold sprays because you do not have to repeatedly buy $150-$200 disposable cans, which can only treat approximately 25-65 lesions each.

Brymill offers the largest and most comprehensive selection of cryosurgical spray tips, probes, and other accessories that enable you to treat a wider range of skin lesions with greater control and accuracy.

Brymill stands behind the high quality and reliability of its products with a 3-year warranty, a 30-day unconditional moneyback guarantee, and outstanding servicing. Some dermatologists are still using older Brymill models that they purchased more than 25 years ago.

Brymill’s CRY-AC® holds 16 fluid oz. of liquid nitrogen (for about 80-100 freezes of an average of 10 seconds each with a C-spray tip), is 11 in. tall, weighs 30 oz. when full, and can hold the liquid nitrogen for 20-24 hours.

Brymill’s CRY-AC®-3 holds 10 fluid oz. of liquid nitrogen (for about 50-60 freezes of an average of 10 seconds each with a C-spray tip), is 8.5 in. tall, weighs 24 oz. when full, and can hold the liquid nitrogen for 10-12 hours.

Physicians select the size that is appropriate for their expected level of usage and for their weight/height preference. Many physicians (especially those with smaller hands) prefer the CRY-AC®-3 because it is smaller, lighter, especially easy to maneuver, and has sufficient capacity for their expected daily usage. Others prefer the CRY-AC® because it is larger and can accommodate greater usage from larger practices with more daily usage.
